My wife Eriko and I came to Deno’s this afternoon with our son Kai. He’s leaving for four months in Japan to live with his grandparents and attend school. He’s half-Japanese and it means a lot to his mother and I that he has a chance to have opportunities to learn more about Japan, even though it means we have to miss him so much while he’s away.
As I mentioned this afternoon, he made it clear weeks ago that the last thing he wanted to do before leaving was to have lunch at Deno’s with mommy and daddy. He’s loved Deno’s ever since we moved in just down the road (coming from Indiana) about a year and a half ago. It’s always been his favorite place and he prides himself on being able to eat almost an entire Deno’s pizza – so long as he doesn’t have to eat the crust.
Thanks for taking a moment to snap a quick couple of photos of us with him.
I just wanted to express my thanks for helping my mother-in-law today. […] she is in AZ for vacation and her best friend got put in the hospital. You were the only pizza place that would deliver a dinner to the family tonight and a gift card. Her gratitude is huge for you taking care of this. I just wanted you to know you have a client for life in her now.

“I thought I was never going to get to have pizza again. That’s a real kid nightmare, ya know! Then mom found out that Deno’s had this great gluten-free crust and we could get yummy soy-cheese, too. I really love it ~ Thanks Deno’s! My pizza is gluten-free crust, olive oil and soy cheese. And it’s great in my lunch the next day.”
